Friedrich Wilhelm Glier

born June 6th, 1865 in Untersachsenberg, Germany

died July25th, 1954 in Crissiumal, RS, Brasil

He was the youngest son of the second marriage of Carl Friedrich Glier and Christiana Elenora Krauss. Presumably he emigrated to Brasil in 1883. His destiny there was the city Santa Cruz do Sul in the southernmost state of Brasil, in Rio Grande do Sul.

With other German immigrants he found his home in Panambi, the former New-Wuerttemberg. Friedrich Wilhelm and his wife Maria Peiter had twelve children, seven boys and five girls. The picture on the right shows them with the father. When the picture was made, the mother was already deceased. Later on many of the children moved into the area of Horizontina, close to Rio Uruguay, some to Mato Grosso.  Friedrich Wilhelm Glier died at the age of 89 in Crissiumal.
